Who Are We

Doug, Jackee and Nathan Raught are Assemblies of God missionaries in the Netherlands.

Doug & Jackee met and were married in Rochester, New York where they lived during much of the 1980's. They received their foreign missions appointment in 1989 from the A/G Department of Foreign Missions. They went to Brussels, Belgium and worked with International Media Ministries for 10 years. In 2000 they changed assignments and moved to Virginia where they worked with Global Teen Challenge. In 2006 they moved back to Europe and began pioneering their new ministry in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Doug grew up in upstate New York. He graduated from CBC in Springfield, Missouri in 1979 and became minister of music in Arkansas. In 1980 he accepted a 2-year Maps assignment as the music director for Centrale Pinkster Bijbelschool in the Netherlands. He returned to the USA and served as minister of music in New York.
       In 1989 Doug was ordained with the New York District A/G and, along with Jackee, received foreign appointment with AGWM. In Belgium he worked with International Media Ministries as the coordinator of Creative Services and was also active in the music department of the International Christian Centre church and Continental Theological Seminary.
       In 2000 Doug took on the role of Creative Services director for Global Teen Challenge.
       In 2006 the Raughts transfered back to Europe where they are now pioneering a new music ministry called FireChoir. In summer of this year, the Raughts will be returning to the USA to itinerate. Their plans are to return to the Netherlands in the summer of 2011.

Jackee grew up in South Jersey where her father worked for the FAA. After graduating from Lafayette College with a degree in Chemical Engineering, she moved to Rochester, NY to work for Kodak. Jackee was a chemical engineer for nearly 10 years. During that time, Jackee met Doug in 1982 when he took the position of minister of music at Bethel and they were married in 1985.

During her years in missions, she has worked as an administrative assistant at International Media Ministries and Global Teen Challenge as well as taking care of her other responsibilities at home.

Jackee now assists in the pioneer work of the FireChoir and various ministry obligations.

Nathan was born in Belgium in 1991. He has several passions, but on the top of his list are music, firearms and art. He is an exceptional artist although he enjoys music more.

In May he will graduate from the Amsterdam International Community School with an International Baccalaureate diploma. He is going to attend Evangel University in the fall, majoring in music technology with possibly a minor in art. He is a bit apprehensive about college life but he's happy to know that his roommate will be one of his best friends from our years in Belgium.

His current ambition is to be a composer. He is a classical music aficionado with a great deal of music history knowledge and appreciation. His favorite thing to do is play the piano.You can hear some of his music and see some of his art work HERE. View his piano audition for Evangel University.
